The session that I viewed last was on the many facets of Google http://k12onlineconference.org/?p=272 . Not only is it my favorite search engine, it is becoming my starting point when I begin exploring the Internet. I feel Google should become a greater part of my student’s experience. I have been teaching MS Office for many years to my K-5 students. I often find they leave my classroom and they do not always have access to the pricy software at their home. This school year, one of my goals will be to educate students, staff, and parents on the many possibilities of this free online resource.
I liked learning about the K12 Online conference. I will visit it again in the future to find other resources and look forward to the 2009 meeting. I am hoping that they can make the videos larger in the future. I would have liked to have seen them full screen with a higher quality image. It would have improved the quality of the presentation. I will be showing this link to our faculty.
